"HP is rumored to have teamed up with Microsoft for the release of a more customer-focused Windows Phone, probably in February 2017," Phone Arena reported. "The information has been confirmed by two sources, which also claim that HP will develop and sell the smartphone, while Microsoft will offer some of the budget needed for its development."

The new HP smartphone is expected to come with features like double tap to wake, Glance and ClearBlack display.

In March, HP launched the Windows 10-based Elite X3 smartphone which failed to win the consumers due to its high price as well as technical issues. The HP Elite X3 sports a 5.96-inch full high definition AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The costly smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB by using a microSD card. The device also features a 16-megapixel primary camera with auto-focus and LED flash and an eight-megapixel secondary camera. It is backed by a non-removable 4150 mAh battery.
