HP has unveiled a new and refreshed version of its 15.6-inch Spectre x360 laptop, which is 1.9 mm thicker than the 2016's 4K variant and boasts of three additional hours of battery life. With the enhanced battery, the 2017 model is estimated to last for a maximum of 12 hours and 45 minutes. The laptop is expected to be launched in February this year at a starting price of $1,278 for the entry-level model.

Going from 15.9mm thickness in the old laptop to 17.8mm in the new one, HP has incorporated a battery that is 23 percent larger in exchange. At the same time, the laptop has also got narrower, with its body shrinking from 14.8 inches wide to 14 inches wide.
The aim of the company, according to The Verge, was mainly to normalize its battery life rather than making the laptop's battery long-lasting. HP will be selling the 15.6-inch x360 laptop with a 4K display this year, and that requires a lot more power.
Besides, the x360 model is also being updated to include Intel's Kaby Lake processors. It includes options that max out at 16GB of RAM, an i7 processor, a 1TB SSD, and Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics.
The 13-inch Spectre x360 is not expected to get any major changes, but it is getting a refresh. It will soon be offered with Kaby Lake processors, and HP's going to start offering a 4K display option as well.
In addition to the x360s, HP is also introducing an x360 version of the skinny EliteBook that was announced at last year's CES. The new model has a display that can be flipped around for use like a tablet, which is why it is called x360. It has been targeted at businesses, with options for a security card reader and an anti-spying screen. It is expected to start shipping later this month.
Some other announcements by HP at CES include the introduction of a new version of its Sprout Pro computer meant for 3D modeling, a gaming monitor called the Omen X 35 that has a 35-inch curved display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, ultra-WQHD resolution and a hook on its back to store headphones, and a new version of the 34-inch Envy Curved All-in-One.
