The Samsung Odyssey is available in two models depending on the display size: 17.3-inch and 15.6-inch. Both models support 1920 x 1080 resolution. The 17.3-inch Odyssey's display has a top brightness of 300 nits, while the 15.6-inch model has 280 nits. Both models support HDR video content.
According to Tech Crunch, both models have a seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor. However, the smaller 15.6-inch model only supports a Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics card. Samsung is yet to confirm which graphics card will power the larger 17.3-inch model.
In terms of storage and memory, each model can be configured to have at most 64GB of memory and 1TB of storage space.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the Samsung Odyssey is its cooling system. Samsung used a brightly colored ventilation technology called HexaFlow which is positioned just on the underside of the laptop. The ventilation system can be opened up to access the storage and memory modules should users want to make some post-purchase upgrade.
Both models of the Samsung Odyssey sport a keyboard with LED backlighting. However, gamers who want to have individual-key backlighting feature have to purchase the bigger 17.3-inch model since this feature is not available with the smaller model, according to PC World.
The 15.6-inch Samsung Odyssey is powered by a 43Wh battery pack which Samsung claims can power the laptop for up to eight hours. The bigger 17.3-inch model is expected to sport a larger 93Wh battery pack.
