Tech giant Sony is dipping its toes into the OLED TV market with the debut of the company's first ever OLED TVs at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. Sony unveiled three OLED TV models in different sizes: 77-inch, 65-inch, and 55-inch.
There have long been rumors that Sony is working on a set of OLED TVs. In fact, the company unveiled a 56-inch 4K OLED TV at CES a few years ago, but it never hit the market. Before Sony's entry into the OLED market, LG had the whole US market to itself since Panasonic does not sell its OLED TV in the United States.

Sony's Bravia OLED A1E is about as thin as LG's new 2.5mm-thick W7 OLED TV. However, LG's W7 has a giant sound bar. Sony went completely futuristic with the design of the A1E and integrated the TV's speaker into the display itself.
To maintain a thin form factor, Sony integrated the inputs and other ports of the A1E into the TV's rear-facing subwoofer which also doubles as the stand. This kind of design cue has been prevalent lately from manufacturers like LG and Samsung to maintain a super thin display, according to Gizmondo.
Sony said that its OLED TVs would support all three of the current HDR video formats which are: Dolby Vision, HDR10, and the new Hybrid Log Gamma. To maintain and enhance color accuracy, Sony integrated the Triluminos color technology and 4K X-Reality Pro engine which boosts detail and enhances upscaling for non-4K contents, according to Wired.
Sony is yet to confirm the official price and the complete specs of its first OLED TVs.
