LG is looking to become a huge threat to Samsung. LG took a swipe at Samsung in a teaser for its next flagship smartphone.
LG announced that its next flagship device will be safe to use and will be free from battery overheating.
The company announced that the LG G6 would have special features that will help prevent overheating issues. Lee Seok-jong of LG Electronics revealed said in a statement that the South Korean company would significantly improve the safety and quality of its next flagship smartphone, Korea Herald reported.

LG will reportedly integrate copper heat pipes, which is commonly used in laptops and notebooks. These pipes will prevent overheating and can lower the temperature inside the device. Aside from the copper heat pipes, LG said that parts which are prone to overheating would be placed far from each other.
"We are conducting battery heat exposure tests to a temperature 15 percent higher than the temperature set by the international standards of the US and Europe," an LG official was quoted saying. "The battery also undergoes diverse tests such as piercing it with a sharp nail or dropping a heavy object on it from a high place."
This announcement was seen as a swipe at Samsung. Samsung was hit by controversy when numerous Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units exploded due to battery issues last year.
The LG G6 and Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 are expected to compete against each other in the first quarter of the year. LG is reportedly planning to reveal the G6 in February. There are speculations that Samsung will likely unveil the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress next month.
The LG G6 has been at the center of attention recently. The new LG flagship will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch QHD+ display with minimum bezel, GSM Arena reported. The waterproof smartphone will have a 2880x1440 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
LG is also reportedly a step ahead of its rival. The LG G6 will likely be released in March in time for the start of school days in South Korea. The Samsung Galaxy S8 was originally slated to come out in March but was pushed back to April.
