The listing reveals that the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 1.6 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The 2016 model only comes with a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The benchmark listing offers only this information, but other rumored specs include a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 1280 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 is also expected to sport a 13 megapixels rear camera and a five megapixels front camera. It may come with a 3,000 mAh battery which is 10 percent less than the 2016 model's battery capacity.

The Galaxy J7 2016 offers 16 GB of internal storage with expandable memory of up to 128 GB via a microSD card. For the upcoming Galaxy J7 2017, fans are hopeful that Samsung will increase the internal storage to at least 32 GB and maintain the expandable memory feature. It is still unknown when the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 will be unveiled.
