The new 1.6 update of Tom Clancy's 'The Division' has added tons of changes to give hardcore players a real challenge.

"In Update 1.6, the gates in the northern parts of the Dark Zone will open and Dark Zone 7,8 and 9 will finally become available!" the announcement said. "In total, these new areas --- including all their vertical space, like rooftops and underground locations --- almost double the playable size of the current Dark Zone."
However, although the game will expand the Dark Zone, it will not add more players, giving them a bigger space to play and indulge on PvE combat opportunities. The new version will also allow fast travel between Dark Zone checkpoints, the PC Gamer reported.
But Ubisoft said it will not incorporate a new World Tier, explaining that it does not want players to experience the same old content just to boost their gear score again before trying out new activities.
The Division 1.6 update also added some thrill called "Contamination." In an hourly sched, some Cleaner NPCs will show up from underground locations to burn contaminated body bags, and players are tasked to stop them. Although it sounds easy to do, players need to do it as fast as they can since the contamination level in these areas have reached "unprecedented lethal levels."
A Dark Zone leaderboards have also been integrated and a new Legendary difficulty option. However, this is only applicable for three missions, namely, Time Square, WarrenGate Power Planet, and Napalm Production Site, according to Game Spot.
Ubisoft promised to give hardcore players a real challenge, revealing that "all the previous content has been taken out and replaced with new, powerful, and much smarter LMB [Last Man Battalion] enemies that use more advanced tactics against you and your team."
But every hard work pays off, and for these missions, players will yield "a ton of rewards," including exclusive vanity items as well as loot.
To clarify, the new update will also make some alterations to named weapons, and they will now be called Exotics. The 1.6 update is separate from the Last Stand DLC and is free for all avid players. It will also include a change for the Alphabridge Gear Set.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft emphasized that its main goal is to make the game "more rewarding and fun to play."
The Division update 1.6 will be made first on PC on its public test server, but the specific date or the full release were not announced yet.
