The specifications of the smartphone, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, include a 6.4 inch Quad HD IPS display, 4 GB RAM, a solid 4,050 mAh battery, and 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB.
The new Lenovo smartphone was expected to be sold at Rs 40,000 in India, considering the usual price difference between the markets of India and the US. The device, which is exclusively available via Flipkart in India, was first announced in the US in November 2016.
The Lenovo Phab2 Pro, the world's first smartphone to feature Google's Tango technology, boasts a set of software and a specially calibrated group of embedded sensors developed by Google to bring Augmented Reality (AR) experience to a phablet.
With augmented reality technology, a smartphone becomes "aware of it surroundings" creating computer generated images superimposed over a user's view of the real world to provide a merged view that they can interact with. "Pokemon Go" and "House of the Dying Sun" are some of the top games that provide users with an AR experience.
Among other specifications, the phone has a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4 micrometer pixel size. It also features Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 to record surround sound using three microphones, while there is Dolby Atmos playback for surround sound output.
Apart from Lenovo, Asus also launched its Zenfone AR at the CES 2017 which features both Google Daydream VR and Google Tango.
