The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to hit the market within the next couple of months, and Samsung is facing a lot of pressure to deliver an impressive device to win over customers following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. Samsung has already released a couple of devices sporting Quad HD displays, but the company is yet to launch a smartphone that supports 4K resolution. According to GSM Arena, there are rumors that Samsung is working on a larger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display for the Galaxy S8 which will support 4K resolution.
There are also talks that Samsung would release two Galaxy S8 models; a regular model will sport a Quad HD resolution while the Edge model will have the 4K display.
There are a lot of speculations regarding what chipset Samsung will pick to power its next flagship device. Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipsets are a safe bet and have been picked by several major smartphone manufacturers including Google to power its latest generation of smartphones. However, Samsung's Exynos chipset is also gaining ground when it comes to computing and graphical power.
Some tech analysts believe that Samsung will release a Galaxy S8 variant with a Snapdragon chipset, and another that sports its Exynos chipset. Samsung will most likely pick the Snapdragon 835 chipset from Qualcomm, and the Exynos 8895 chipset from its portfolio, according to Mashable.
The latest iPhone model ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, and it is rumored that Samsung might also ditch this ubiquitous audio port on its upcoming flagship. Another interesting spec is that Samsung will opt in and configure the Galaxy S8 with a dual-camera or just have one powerful sensor.
