HMD Global, the company that now owns the rights to manufacture devices under the Nokia brand, have recently shared some details about the upcoming flagship smartphone. Shared through the company's official Weibo account, it would appear that the rumored Nokia P1 smartphone will come packing with a high-end chipset Snapdragon 835 from Qualcomm.

HMD added that the development stage might take some time and that the smartphone will be available later this year. In a translated statement acquired by NDTV, Nokia said, "Understood your mood, because the new high-end Snapdragon SoC has just released, please give us some time to prepare, when the time will be made public."
Nokia's latest response regarding the use of the Snapdragon 835 chipset have cleared some rumor regarding the specs of the company's upcoming flagship smartphone. The Nokia P1 is slated to be a premium-tiered smartphone with a price tag expected to hit $800.
The top model is expected to sport a 5.3-inch display with either Full HD or Quad HD resolution and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is expected to sport at least 6GB of memory, and is also rumored to make its official debut at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
Aside from the Nokia P1, another Nokia branded device have surfaced on benchmarking website GFXBench. The tablet sports an 18.4-inch display with a Quad HD resolution and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, according to Android Headlines.
The tablet have a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of memory, and 64GB of storage space. It has a 12-megapixel rear facing main camera, and a 12-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. The tablet supports 4G LTE cellular network, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC connectivities.
Last week, Nokia released the Nokia 6 smartphone in China through a limited flash sale. The phone was met with tremendous success and sold out within just a minute.
