"Pokemon Duel" available on iOS and Android devices.
A new Pokemon game sneaked its way onto mobile devices in the form of the competitive "Pokemon Duel" app.
One of the features that the ultra-popular "Pokemon GO" game lacked is the ability for players to pit their Pokemon against other players. Fortunately, this feature is what "Pokemon Duel" specializes in. For "Pokemon Duel", players build a team of Pokemon figures. These figures resemble that of an "Amiibo" figure, or that of a tabletop game such as the "Warhammer" board-game.

The goal is for players to move their Pokemon to their opponents territory before their opponent reaches theirs. This makes up for some intense Pokemon battle experience for the gamers.
Get ready to duel
Unlike "Pokemon GO", "Pokemon Duel" can actually be played with real people albeit via online. According to the official Pokemon website, players can compete in a duel via the online "League Match" mode.
This online mode also prevents mismatches by pitting players against others with a record similar to theirs. As players progress, they can nab more powerful Pokemon which they can use to strengthen their Pokemon dream-team.
There's also a single-player option, where players take on AI opponents. This way, players can familiarize themselves with the game's mechanics before diving into online league matches.
Not the first release of "Pokemon Duel"
While this may seem like an unexpected release from the Pokemon company, this isn't exactly the first time this game was released. According to Digital Trends, "Pokemon Duel" already launched in Japan a year ago.
However, at that time the game was under the name "Pokemon Comaster." Now with the worldwide release of "Pokemon Duel", this will certainly bring Pokemon fans across the globe, back to their mobile devices.
"Pokemon Duel" is out now, on Android and iOS devices. Although the full game is free to play, it still contains in-app purchases for items and boosters.
