Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep is the first Kingdom Hearts game specifically developed for a home console since 2006. It is supposed to be a two-and-a-half hour preview of the Kingdom Hearts III, CNet reported.
Kingdom Hearts II was not received well by the public, and it was only after seven years of spin-off titles that Kingdom Hearts III was officially announced in 2013. However, players still do not know much about the game. The most concrete news that has been released about Kingdom Hearts III came earlier this month when director Tetsuya Nomura said that the development of the game still had "some way to go."
The original Kingdom Hearts came out back in the year 2002. It follows the characters of Sora, Riku, and Kairi as they battle the antagonist Master Xehanort, who shows up in the game in a few different forms. Also, Disney's Donald, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse help the player. Later on, three important new friends (Terra, Aqua, and Ven) are introduced in a prequel.
0.2, a sequel to the prequel, follows Keyblade Master Aqua as she wanders through the world of darkness. According to CNet, the 0.2 succeeds in simplifying everything, giving Kingdom Hearts III a clear direction and has the best combat in the franchise. It is said to have been improved with a variety of attack types and a series-first system where the main player is rewarded with clothing for completing combat goals.
