The Samsung Galaxy Note 7
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle has made it to the headlines in 2016 and it was a trying time for both the South Korean tech giant and its customers who purchased the phablet. However, there may be something positive that can come out of the ordeal as well.
According to Computerworld, it may even be a good thing. When several reports of the Galaxy Note 7 exploding went out, people started to be wary of their devices. The explosions were not limited to Samsung devices only because there were cases involving iPhones and other devices loaded with lithium-ion batteries as well. People are now aware of the risks and it could be a good sign.

Another positive side to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco is how manufacturers are now motivated to avoid a similar disaster, bringing up industry standards along the way. LG is now fitting the G6 with thermal pipes to ensure it does not overheat or explode. Samsung and other manufacturers take more extensive tests to ensure quality. The company has come up with an eight-point battery safety check to use for all its products.
A lot of rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are already circulating online but Samsung has not confirmed any of the speculated specs and features yet. It is speculated that Samsung may use the removable battery feature again as it needs to be extra cautious with its battery this time.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to feature a 4K resolution, Exynos 8895 processor and 6 GB of RAM. Other rumored specs include artificial intelligence capabilities and major improvements in storage and camera. It is expected to sport a rear dual camera with 16 MP and 8 MP sensors and an updated S pen which may also come with a fingerprint scanner.
Experts claim that the company will release the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 earlier in an attempt to win its customers back. It is believed that Samsung will unveil the Note 8 in the first quarter of 2017 during the CES 2017 (Consumer Electronics Show).
It could possibly be unveiled at the MWC 2017 (Mobile World Congress) in March as well. However, many believe this time line is not plausible because based on tradition, the company releases the Galaxy S series models earlier than the Note line. Other reports said that Samsung could also change the name of the Galaxy Note 8.
