How to share multiple photos and videos at once on Instagram (YouTube/ForThePeople)
The new Instagram update will be adding a slideshow feature, but with every new feature there's always going to be pros and cons. This new update comes right after another Facebook-owned app added a new feature into their app as well.
WhatsApp added a feature to their app, that's pretty much similar to Snapchat Stories. This is something that Instagram incorporated into their app as well. However, the new Instagram update is going beyond the "stories" feature with their newly added slideshows.
Like Us on Facebook
According to Refinery29, this new Instagram feature was actually teased earlier by a Twitter user who got a hold of the update's beta version. The source also mentioned that certain advertisers already had access to this feature ahead of time.
Now that it's finally released to the public, Instagram users can finally add up to 10 photo and video combinations in one convenient post. Instagram manager Yichen Wang spoke out to the source explaining that this particular update was to address the dilemma of Instagram users.
This particular dilemma had to do with users having a hard time picking just one photo from a bunch of photos they intend to share. By giving Instagram users the freedom to choose up to 10, they wouldn't have a hard time anymore, in deciding which ones to share.
Of course, not everyone is digging the new Instagram update feature. Some Twitter users aren't too pleased with the update while others see new opportunities in the slideshows.
The new update can also make certain bad situations even worse. According to a previous report from DutchNews, a teenage boy committed suicide upon finding out that a nude picture of him has spread on Instagram.
Now imagine if the slideshow feature was used to spread a bunch of unwanted photos of someone on Instagram. Add in some scandalous videos coupled with some embarrassing photos in a single post, then we've got ourselves a recipe for disaster.
For better or for worse, this Instagram update is here to stay. It might have its ups and downs, but that would now depend entirely on how cautious we are on the internet.
