Sony SF-G SD Card Review (YouTube/ElectronicsArena)
Sony Electronics just introduced the the fastest SD card to date, and with the Nintendo Switch on the way, this sounds very ideal. There are some really fast SD cards on the market, that are already available today.
Kingston Technology has cards with write speeds that can go up to 90MB/s. While the Sandisk Extreme Pro series has speeds that go as high as 250MB/s.

However, Sony Electronics are willing to step up the ante in their latest SD card line-up. According to Engadget, Sony has created an SD Card with a write speed of 299MB/s and a read speed of up to 300MB/s. Sony's latest SD Card is taking class 3 Ultra High Speed rates to another level!
While Sandisk first announced that they have created the fastest SD Card, it seems like Sony Electronics will be taking the crown from them. That's not all, Sony's latest SD card can do more than just have ridiculously high transfer speeds.
The Sony Electronics SF-G SD card series also comes equipped with shockproof, x-ray proof, waterproof and temperature resistant features. Given that the Nintendo Switch comes along with a meager 32GB internal memory, Sony's latest SD card is its perfect solution.
According to Mashable, the faster and sturdier SD cards was due to demanding camera's that require faster memory cards 4K resolutions. A Sony Electronics European branch representative explained that, with the frequent use of cameras these days, the need for these types SD cards "becomes apparent."
Aside from cameras, the Nintendo Switch can defenitely benefit from this SD card's high speed read and write rates. Although potential buyers should expect these to come out with an expensive price tag, which is understandable given its high-end features. The Sony Electronics ultra-fast SF-G SD cards will be available at tech markets this spring.
