Energizer will be releasing a new smartphone in May 2017. The Energy E550LTE model has a rugged design, but elegant and powerful enough to perform equally with high-end phones out there. The release price will be at $475.

The Energy E550LTE is 11.1mm thin. The design is also made "trendy" to get the interest of people. It is meant to be used daily with utmost protective capacity. The IP68 certification enables it to be dustproof, waterproof and even endure drop tests.

The 5.5-inch FHD screen comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 and an extra Asahi tempered glass for utmost display protection and quality. The Energy E550LTE has a 13MP and 8MP rear and front camera - the first ever on a rugged smartphone.

In terms of performance, the Energy E550LTE possess a 64GB ROM and 4GB RAM pair-up coupled with an MTK 6755 Octa-core processor clocked to 2.0 GHz which promises superb processing and storing experience. There is also another cheaper variant - the Energy E520LTE which has a family look and simpler specifications. It will have a 5.3 inch HD screen, 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM and an MTK 6735 quad-core processor. It also has a Sony Back camera of 13MP paired up with a 5MP front camera. It also has the same Quick charge plus 4000 mAh battery and fingerprint scanner. It costs around $320.

The smartphone market has been evolving, as recent devices are now trying to enter the "rugged" classifications. In this busy world, having an IP68 certification is something users are looking for.
