When game developer 343 Industries released "Halo 5," many gamers were surprised to learn that the legendary split-screen options have been abandoned by the gaming studio. Such change made by the developer was later on realized by them as an error of their design ways.
Although not directly confirming that the upcoming "Halo 6" will include the split screen setting, game developer's general manager Bonnie Ross assured that the game franchise "will always have split screen support going forward," according to Den of Geek.
Such announcement happened after the realization that a "Halo 5" without split screen setting has significantly affected the "Halo" community. Ross accepted the fact that the change they made with the game has eroded trust with the community.
Meanwhile, the release date of "Halo 6" remains to be a mystery up to now. However, most reports would suggest that the game's release would be announced during E3 event this June. The most prominent timeframe associated to Halo's upcoming game sequel is 2018, according to a HaloWay Point discussion.
The rumored release date was preceded by a teaser video released by the game developer. The video depicted a "Mannequin Challenge," wherein a file transcript bearing a significant mark was spotted by "Halo" fans.
