Dying Light is an open-world first person survival horror video game developled by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
New "Dying Light" details will feature new playable maps for the "The Following" expansion and a rumored DirectX support for the Enhanced Edition of the game.
Techland announced new maps for "Dying Light: Enhanced Edition" in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles through its second expansion "The Following". The new maps were created by gamers via community maps within the PC and Techland will choosing one these many customized maps to be used in "The Following" DLC.

Community Manager Micah Napora encouraged gaming fans on Twitter to create several game maps that they will use in "Dying Light: The Following" as the maps will be used in a variety of game modes such as PvP and co-op modes. Techland added that they have started a Twitter campaign which will allow gamers to uncover the possible maps present within "Dying Light: The Following" using the #TweetForSpeed to make a difference for "Dying Light" gamers.
Techland featured a a unique race track like map and the car will only move when gamers tweeted something about "Dying Light" with the hashtag. Each time the car moves a new map for "Dying Light" will be showcased for all gamers and beginners playing "Dying Light", Gamespot reported.
Aside from the new maps, Techland announced that "Dying Light:Enhanced Edition" for the Xbox One will likely retain its native resolution of 1536×1080 as the video game developer explained that a smoother frame-rate is more important than the exact resolution.
Xbox users were not pleased by Techland's decision of retaining its resolution as the PS4 version will feature a full HD 1920×1080 resolution. This implies that the development for "Dying Light" is mainly focused on its gameplay and post processing effects rather than frame rates.
Lead Designer Tymon Smektala teased that "Dying Light: Enhanced Edition" could be receiving a DirectX support soon as he and Techland have tinkering on its function, however there were no immediate plans yet as they were focus on "The Following" DLC. Smektala stated that they will continue to test out the game in DirectX after the released of the expansion, WCCFTech reported.
Techland previously revealed several new game modes for "The Following" expansion such as Basic Bounties, Daily Bounties and Community Bounties. Each of these bounties will challenge players in completing several task like killing a specific number of zombies or climb the tallest building and then jump it. "Dying Light: The Following" will launch on Feb. 9 and will cost around $20 or purchase it online for $30 using the game's season pass.
"Dying Light" is currently available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
