Nokia is rumored to be working on two Snapdragon 660 chipset powered smartphones.

During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event held in February, HMD Global did not announce any Nokia flagship smartphone. However, the Finnish company is rumored to release several smartphones this year. It has already announced three smartphones such as Nokia 3, Nokia and Nokia 6 that come under budget category phones. Now, the Finnish is rumored to be testing two powerful midrange smartphones that are dubbed as Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 by Phone Arena.

The alleged Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 could be upper midrange smartphones as they are said to be driven by Snapdragon 660 chipset. The new SoC from Qualcomm is a successor version of Snapdragon 652 and 653 chipsets. Recently, it was allegedly spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks with scores of 105576 and 105584 which is quite impressive numbers for midrange smartphones. Its performance is somewhat close to Snapdragon 820 SoC that has scored around 130,000 on AnTuTu.

Both the smartphones will have different sized displays. One of them is expected to feature a full HD screen whereas the other is speculated to house a quad HD display. The Nokia 8 is expected feature Zeiss lens, but this piece of information is not yet confirmed. However, both will come with impressive cameras, but the design of the cameras on both phones will be different.

They will be also equipped with features like rear-facing fingerprint scanners and fast charging support, Nokia Power User reported. The rumored Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 smartphones are expected to arrive with metal unibody chassis with slim bezels. It is rumor to run on the most recent edition of Android OS.

In the near future, more smartphones powered with Snapdragon 660 SoC are expected to release in the coming the month. These phones are expected to get announced after the official announcement of the chipset in the second quarter of this year. The rumored Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is speculated to feature the Snapdragon 660 chipset.
