V-Moda, is pretty much known for producing its high quality headphones. This year V-Moda is giving it a shot with its new "V-Moda Remix" Bluetooth speaker. And what is special with V-Moda Remix is its built-in headphone amp.

Remix bills as the "first 3D-Printed fully faceted custom product with hi-fi sound quality." According to V-Moda, the Remix comes in two base finishes -- aluminum and "vegan" leather -- and costs $300 or 300 euros. No word yet on UK or Australian pricing, but the US price translates to about £250 or AU$400.

Val Kolton, V-Moda's CEO says that after developing their critically acclaimed headphones, the company felt it was time to evolve, to 'remix' the V-Moda sound into a new form. V-Moda already had their innovative headphones with their world-renowned sound, materials and personalization thus they were positive that a speaker will achieve the same goals and excel at the same vision.

An interesting addition that V-Moda has made with the Remix is the inclusion of a headphone amplifier. This amplifier outputs 83mW across two channels for owners of high-end headphones says Gizmodo.

The Remix also includes a built-in microphone, allowing it to be used for calls or with a connected Amazon Echo Dot for voice commands. V-Moda claims that you'll get up to 10 hours of music off the 3400mAh battery before you'll need to recharge using the Remix's USB-C port.

Kolton says the Remix is a milestone product because it is the first consumer product available right now where all surfaces are customizable via futuristic additive-manufacturing technology. The Remix is reported to be the culmination of three years of Research & Development involving dozens of engineers and over 50 prototypes.

Users could expect that the Remix would be an exceptionally good Bluetooth speaker. It is good, but it couldn't be said that it outperforms other Bluetooth speakers in its price class. Part of the problem is that it's small. In fact, it's about the size and weight of the UE Boom 2, but it's got a rectangular shape instead of cylindrical.
