A representation on how greenhouse gases affects our planet.
Climate change in 2017 continues to manifest through increased global temperature. These drastic changes were recorded despite not experiencing a strong El Nino this year.
The United Nations weather agency noted that an extreme weather and climate condition continues this 2017. The global temperature has hit a 1.1 degree- Celsius. Such phenomenon has been accompanied by dropping of sea-ice coverage of more than four million square kilometers.

"This increase in global temperature is consistent with other changes occurring in the climate system. With levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere consistently breaking new records, the influence of human activities on the climate system has become more and more evident," Times of India quoted World Meteorological Organisation Secretary-General Petteri Taalas as saying.
Climate change has been more apparent the past years, as compared to the pre-industrial period. Certain human activities have contributed to the reported changes that the Earth is experiencing. To be more specific, the greenhouse effect causes the atmosphere to retain heat.
Since the industrial revolution that started around 1750, human activities have contributed to the production of greenhouse gases. These gases contributed for Earth temperature to rise, which also led to sea-ice melting.
The greenhouse gases mainly emitted by human activities include but may not be limited to carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O). The continuous burning of fossil fuels and a massive amount of release of carbon dioxide by factories are some of the commonly cited human activities generating greenhouse gases, according to Environmental Protection Agency.
As a result of this ongoing climate change, global communities are now calling for countries to decrease their greenhouse gas emissions to significant amounts. On a micro level, every individual is encouraged to be more cautious with their environment, avoiding acts that could pollute and harm more Mother Nature.
