Getting enough sleep is good for the health. A new study published in the journal "Sleep" found out that you will feel like a lottery winner if you get a good night's rest.
More than 30,500 individuals in the UK were analyzed by Psychologists from the University of Warwick in England with regards to their sleep patterns. They ascertained that patients can have improved health and well-being if there are positive changes in their sleep habits including quantity, quality, and not using many sleep medications.

Two surveys- the 12-Item Short Form Survey (SF-12) and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) - were provided to participants to measure their health. The SF-12 is used to identify their emotional and physical health while the GHQ is used to assess certain mental conditions and disorders.
Respondents who have a good rest got better scores on the GHQ according to a report in Medical Daily. Researchers say that the overall mental health of those individuals can be compared to the wellbeing of lottery winners who got a jackpot of about $247,000.
Sad to say, sleep deprivation is one of the most common health problems and there are millions of Americans who do not have sufficient sleep as reported by according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Study author and psychologist Nicole Tang said that the current findings of their study suggests that a person could have a better mental and physical wellbeing if there are positive changes in their sleep habits
The National Sleep Foundation suggests other ways to improve sleep like exercising daily, sticking to a sleep schedule, avoiding large meals before sleeping, as well as nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine.
