Online scams or internet fraud seem to be undaunted by the security updates being made every year. To avoid being a victim of these fraudulent activities, outlined underneath are the most common scams that you should avoid.
The "Free Trial Offer" is perhaps the most common scheme that could easily victimize online users. Without any prior knowledge, web users could opt to get a product thinking that is for free, and would only necessitate a small amount as shipping or handling fee.

What is not known, however, is that the real value of the product is buried in fine print, often using color variants that blend it into the background, according to Reader's Digest.
Another typical form a scam is the "Scareware" trick. This type of fraud mainly involves claims that your system is infected with a virus or malware. Users would then be instructed to purchase a "Full Version" of the fake anti-virus to allegedly remove the infection. To avoid this, try to search for any unfamiliar product that you want to install, according to LifeWire.
Perhaps the cruelest form of online scam or internet fraud, the "Love For Sale" scam has victimized hundreds of online users. This type of con is highly associated with dating sites, pages, and chat rooms. As a user, you'll be led to believe that the other person across a distant country is your soul mate or love of your life.
You can easily identify this form of scam, as after few weeks or months of "being together," the con artist will ask for money. Some of the reasons would be to escape a cruel father or even to buy a ticket so you can be together, but after you send the money, he/she will disappear.
