The US Navy is also developing its own futuristic laser weapon. The design of the laser system is intended to shoot down enemy rockets or missile that would target a navy ship. Tthe upcoming laser device can also work as a tracker, sensor, exchange information, and target designation.
The Aurora Excalibur is another futuristic weapon. The unmanned aircraft can operate with a vertical take-off and landing, reaching a speed up to 460mph. With its missiles on board, Excalibur is more than just a flight display aircraft. The first test in 2009 was successful, suggesting that it may join the list of military weapons soon.
Weapons manufacturer are also perfecting an invisible cloak that could be used as part of soldiers gear. Scientists in Scotland have been developing a camouflage material known as Metaflex.
The material acts like a "Harry Potter" invisible cloak. The wearer will be invisible for the Metalflex material will bend light as its hits its surface. The Metalflex is still being perfected.
The aforementioned weapons are not an exhaustive list of the future weapons. There are still more weapons being developed, and many remain undisclosed for security reasons.
