In a futile effort to catch big fishes, US Mobiles added a couple of Xiaomi phones to their shelves, but failed to make it a big business.
Xiaomi will be coming to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 to unveil the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone.
Xiaomi's co-founder. Hugo Barra, had recently revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone would be unveiled on Feb. 24. However, fresh information suggests that the Chinese manufacturer will be present at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona, Spain to showcase the smartphone, Android Headlines reported.

One needs to be aware of the fact that the Xiaomi event at the MWC 2016 will not be an official launch event but it will be a 'media preview. Even though the Chinese manufacturer has tried to keep the Xiaomi MI 5 secret, the rumor mill has consistently revealed leaked photos and specifications of the smartphone.
An image of the retail box of the Xiaomi MI 5 has also surfaced. It shows the smartphone in four different colors such as blue, gold, white and black. The smartphone bears rounded edges and a shiny metallic frame. The front bears a physical Home button that most likely features a fingerprint scanner. The rear side of the smartphone seems to wear a glass panel.
Rumors are rife that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be arriving in four variants. All the models will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC from Qualcomm, Gizmo China reported.
The first two variants will come with metallic chassis featuring 32 GB and 64 GB storage options. The 32 GB model is expected to feature 3 GB of RAM and the 64 GB variant is going to come with 4 GB of RAM. Both variants will be respectively price at $335 and $396.
The other two variants are going to feature glass rear panel along with 2.5D curved glass. These variants will feature 2K display. One model will come with 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM whereas the other one would be coming with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Both variants will be carrying respective price tags of $426 and $472.
All variants are expected to feature a 5.2-inch display, 16 MP rear camera and 13 MP frontal camera. It will come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS overlaid with MIUI 7.0. Lastly, it will be equipped with a huge battery of 3600 mAh capacity.
