For those who own an iPad can now use their slates to control their Apple TVs. The updated Apple TV Remote app does not only bring simplicity in controlling media content but it also comes with several new functionalities.
For both the iPad and iPhone version, the update comes with a number of changes to its app user interface, reported by 9to5Mac. The new user interface will be having a redesigned Now Playing that lists a number of relevant information to the streamed media content
In terms of music, users can now directly view within the app the lyrics and the Up Next playlist. Users can also now select a particular chapter to jump to and access different audio and subtitles in terms of movies and television series'. The remote itself on the iPad can also be altered by holding down the buttons to move it to different parts of the iPad's screen.
Users can also now use Siri in controlling their Apple TV viewing, as stated by The Verge. There is also a microphone button in the apps user interface that they can use to commence different voice commands to inform Siri to play, pause, select, and search different media.
Finally having an iPad support for the Apple TV Remote app is definitely big deal indeed for those who have waited a very long time. The functionality was sadly not available in the app when it was launched last year. Also, to those who don't own an iPad and has an iPhone, they are still suggested to download the latest update as it contains a number of general performance and stability improvements.
