Hardcore fans of "Elite: Dangerous" will be getting The Commanders update by mid-April. This latest addition will bring new multicrew ships, tweaks, fixes and other stuff to the game.

The Commanders update for "Elite Dangerous" has been in beta since February is part of the ongoing Horizons season. Surprisingly, Frontier Developments has announced last week that the game will be released sooner that anyone has expected. It tweeted, "The Commanders 2.3 Update with the Commander Creator, Multicrew and more, will be released week ending 16 April!"

"The Commanders" will also bring to players of "Elite: Dangerous" asteroid base type station, air traffic controllers and thirty two asteroid bases that are located in various deep space areas. Also, there will be new megaships such as Tanker, Flight Operations, Cargo, Prison Ship, Asteroid Miner, Passenger and Science Vessel.

Moreover, the latest update will introduce new challenge scenarios with four new Incursion scenarios, Ship launched fighter challenge, Driver challenge and Speed docking.

A Commander creator UI will be added as well and players can finally create a face for themselves with the new avatar generator or the Holo-Me option to cockpit Status Panel. Players can choose from a wide array of customisation options such as making themselves look young, old, or with scars like a pirate.

There will be 50 new male and female preset commanders and also there are feature presets for the Eyes, Nose, Ears, Neck, Mouth and Jawline. Fourteen new hairstyles will also be available including some new beards, hair shader improvements and a "rough" type of female base head.
