It was during this process that Capcom and other developers pushed Nintendo to increase the Nintendo Switch’s RAM capacity to at least 4GB, which is what the console launched with earlier this month, SegmentNext reported.
However, Capcom had other plans in mind for the Nintendo Switch in terms of the increased RAM capacity as the Japanese developers were at the midst of developing the RE Engine for "Resident Evil 7" at the time and wanted Nintendo to create a console with the right amount memory to support the system.
Nintendo took Capcom's advice and increased the Nintendo Switch's memory, which further increase the speculation that "Resident Evil 7" could be ported to the console soon. Both Capcom and Nintendo have history with each other when it comes to creating and porting video game titles as "Sweet Home" from the NES that influenced the making of the first "Resident Evil" game in the first PlayStation console.
Furthermore, several "Resident Evil" titles have already made into Nintendo consoles like "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis," "Resident Evil Code: Veronica,""Resident Evil" remake, "Resident Evil Zero" and "Resident Evil 4."
Game producer Masachika Kawata stated before in an interview that he took an interest in the Nintendo Switch. He said that the Nintendo Switch is an interesting piece of hardware and will likely be used for current and future video game titles.
However, Kawata did clarify that Capcom will not have plans in developing "Resident Evil 7" in the Nintendo Switch, atleast at the moment. With that in mind, gaming fans will have to wait for further details regarding "Resident Evil 7" on the Nintendo Switch.
In other news, Capcom is already teasing gaming fans of the next sequel for the "Resident Evil" franchise soon.
Capcom stated that "Resident Evil 7" is the start of a new series, hinting that "Resident Evil 8" could have a similar style in gameplay. Executive producer Jun Takeuchi stated in an interview that they alreay have plans in motion for the next game and wanted to see how they will continue to evolve survival-horror titles.
"Resident Evil 8" will likely focus more on the horror side of it rather than the action-oriented previously shown in past titles.
Takeuchi added that the advancement of technology may play a role in the development of "Resident Evil 8" as it is possible that he is referring to evolving virtual reality hardware, since "Resident Evil 7" uses PlayStation VR, but he could also be referring to new gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Switch or Xbox Scorpio, Gamerant reported.
"Resident Evil 7" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
