3 Reasons to Forget About Surface Pro 5: Mighty iPad Pro, 5-in-1 Aspire Switch 12, and Pixel C

Microsoft may release the Surface Pro 5 this spring. However, there are some alternatives that are worth checking out. These are the Apple iPad Pro, Google Pixel C, and Aspire Switch 12.

Mighty iPad Pro

The iPad Pro comes in 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch models. The iPad Pro has a four-speaker audio system. It comes with a 2,732 x 2,048 and 2,048 x 1,536 screen resolution for the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch models respectively, GSM Arena reported.

The Apple device runs on iOS 10 and is equipped with the A9X chip and an M9 coprocessor. The 7.9-inch model costs about $599, while the 12.9-inch version costs around $799.

Google Pixel C

The Google Pixel C is an Android 2-in-1 device and features a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels, CNET reported. Some of the other features of the device include a USB-C charger, 64 GB of internal storage, 3 GB LPDDR RAM, a Nvidia Tegra processor, and stereo speakers.

5-in-1 Aspire Switch 12

The Aspire Switch 12 is marketed as 5-in-1 device. It can be transformed into five modes -  display, pad, tent, notebook, and desktop. The Switch 12 sports a 12.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

The tablet is equipped with an Intel HD graphics 5300, a 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM with 128 GB SSD hard drive and an Intel Core M5 dual core processor. The Aspire Switch 12 costs about $649.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Updates

Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to have a 4K UHD display. There are speculations that the upcoming Microsoft device may sport a resolution of 3,840 x 2,560 pixels or 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. 

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will reportedly also come with the new Kaby Lake processor. The stylus for the forthcoming tablet will reportedly feature a magic button and a top-mounted eraser. The tablet may come with a price tag between $850 and $1,300.
