In the latest "Total War: Warhammer 2" Into the Vortex video, the game director has discussed more details about the sequel, including that intriguing rat cameo at the end of the trailer.
"When we brought in the idea of the Vortex mechanic, it was to provide an interesting climactic endgame and race that you could actually genuinely lose a game in a Total War campaign right up to the end," he explained.
Roxburgh reiterated saying that the Vortex is not something imposed to do. It comes as good news for players who opt not to go through it and haste their way into victory the soonest that they can.
He also clarified the speculation that is making the rounds about that rat cameo in the "Total War: Warhammer 2" reveal trailer. "What's with the rat? Um, it's just a rat?," he said.
Many of the fans speculated that the said scene confirmed the fourth secret race and it gives a nod to Skaven. It remains unkown at the moment, however, and players can believe what the game director said or not, PC Gamer reported.
"Total War: Warhammer 2" serves as the follow-up to the turn-based strategy and real time tactics video game released in 2016. It is slated to arrive later this year but Creative Assembly has yet to announce the game's exact release date.
