In addition to the possible reboot, Warner Bros. Games Montreal hinted that Bruce Wayne's son, Damian will star in "Batman: Arkham Insurgency." Damian Wayne is one of several characters to have adopted the mantle of Robin in the comics and It is not clear whether he would have been portrayed as a sidekick in the game, or has he inherited the role of Batman from his father.
Batman as a character and pop icon, had a massive worldwide appeal, and the "Arkham" series demonstrated that video games can do the Dark Knight justice. It has been two years since the release of "Batman: Arkham Knight," and this reboot means that whatever WB Games Montreal is planning on will be much longer tha originally intended, so it seems likely that this is the studio’s last chance to create something worthwhile using the character
However, it is possible that WB Games Montreal has a second DC Universe project that could be ready sooner than whatever becomes of the troubled Damian Wayne game. It was previously reported that the studio was taking on new staff to facilitate the development of two distinct titles, although little information has been made public about either, Gamerant reported.
Past reports revealed that "Batman: Arkham Insurgency" will star Batman and Robin (Dick Grayson) and will cover events after "Batman: Arkham Origin."
The Dynamic Duo will likely face the Court of Owls and there Talons, as the organization has been taken over by Owlman. there is a new map location featuring a coastal region of Gotham City and its size is equivalent of the three islands featured in "Batman Arkham Knight", although the interiors have been substantially expanded so players will be able to get inside most of the buildings.
The Wayne Mansion and Batcave can now be explored and the Batmobile will no longer feature a battle mode similar in "Arkham Knight" and will consist of car chases, but the missiles, power winch and the EMP device still remains, along with new features.
"Batman: Arkham Insurgency" will feature a dual combat system, minus the dual takedown as it will be replaced with special moves and combos for each character, along with a skill tree and a 1-on-1 battles.
Rumored characters in the Batman mythos will include Maxie Zeus, Dollmaker, Killer Moth, Anarky, Two-Face, Blockbuster, Ventriloquist, Cornelius Stirk, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Dusan al Ghul, Mad Monk, Dala, The Riddler and The Joker.
Alfred Pennyworth and Lucious Fox will return to aid Batman and Robin in the main story, while Barbabra Gordon will help players during side missions.
For now, gaming and DC fans will have to wait for Warner Bros. Games Montreal's update of "Batman: Arkham Insurgency" soon.
