Recently, Microsoft launched Windows 10 S, the latest operating system and is said to compete with Chrome OS. Here are the main differences between the two OS to know which should you choose.

Meanwhile, the Chrome OS has no limitations on the kind of apps that you want. You can install any games or applications even if it is not from Chrome Store.
Browser Limitations
The default browser on Windows 10 S is Microsoft Edge. Users can still download another browser from the Windows Store, but Microsoft Edge will still be the default browser. Bing is also the default search engine on the Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, which cannot be changed.
The Chrome OS also has browser limitations. Users need to stick with the Google Chrome as the default browser to have a smooth and faster experience. Installing a third-party browser on Chrome OS could reduce the browsing speed.
Boot up time
Chromebooks boot up fast, but Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 S will be able to completely boot up in just 15 seconds. This may be a good news, especially for class productivity. Teachers and students can now log in on their device, quickly.
Price tag
Google's Chromebook is one of the best budget laptops. There are available Chromebook models for less than $300 on the official website of Google.
On the other hand, hardware manufacturers could launch more Windows 10 S laptops which are cheaper than the Surface Laptop. However, Windows 10 S laptops are still expected to cost on average more than Chromebooks.
Windows 10 S is designed for teachers, students, and for users who rely on Windows features. But, if you rely on applications that are not available on the Windows Store, you should choose for Chrome OS. If you are still unsure which one to choose, consider these differences to have enough information to take a wise decision.
