Amazon will soon launch a brand new smart home speaker, Echo Show, in its bid to take on its toughest rival, Google Home. So, before making a decision to buy, here is a rundown of features, specs and price details of the brand new Alexa-powered device as opposed to competition's product.

In the specs arena, the new Amazon Alexa-powered Echo Show sports a 7-inch touch screen. It has video camera that allows users to make a video or voice calls using their Wi-Fi connection.  

Moreover, Amazon has announced that it will roll out a set of software updates that will introduce voice calling features to previously released Echo devices in the market, NY Times reported.

But how does Amazon Echo Show fare against its rising competition, Google Home? It appears that Alexa can simply process a set of commands and it is not capable to engage in a two-way conversation.

The major advantage of Google Home over the Amazon Echo Show is its use of powerful search engine, Google. Apparently, Amazon's smart home speaker is limited to collect responses from Microsoft's search engine, Bing.

However, Amazon has edged out over Google in other key aspects being offered in smart home speakers in this day and age. It mentioned that the frequent use of Echo Show will let Alexa adapt more to the users' speech pattern, use of vocabulary including their personal choices.

The Echo Show's voice commands also support around 130 apps contrary to Google Home that does not have a detailed list of supported apps, according to Mirror UK. The publication cited that it looks like Alexa is winning the battle of voice-activated speakers in the market.

As for price, the Amazon Alexa's new Echo Show is tagged at $230. Google Home, on the other hand, is sold at $130 a piece but those who buy two units can get it for $180.

Recent study revealed that Google Home and other home devices have continued to be inferior with Amazon Alexa in the Technology and Hardware department. This is primarily the reason why it come with a higher price expensive but it is matched with superior quality worth paying for.
