The recently announced iOS 11 from Apple brings drastic changes to the market and its users. Some games and apps will be affected by the upcoming release of the said iOS update.

The successor of iOS 10 is almost at hand. Although details about it are still sketchy, it has been confirmed the upcoming iOS will only operate on 64-bit devices. This would mean that iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C and other devices will be rendered obsolete, according to The Guardian.

Long before the introduction of the new iOS, during the hype of 10.3.2 version, it was already speculated that Apple might terminate support for their 32-bit devices.  Although the previous iOS updates have spared iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, and 4th-generation iPad, the upcoming update will not be too gentle as compared to the previous ones.

The new version of the iOS will introduce new interface and redesigned App Store while removing support for 32-bit devices and apps. For iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, and 4th-generation iPad users, this would mean they would not receive essential features for their apps.

Moreover, the said action will also deprive them with important security fixes. Thus, putting them into a much vulnerable position from bugs and other security threats.

For the case of new iPhone and iPad devices operating on 64-bit, some apps that are 32-bit-only and not coded to operate in a 64-bit system will somehow be rendered useless. Such apps regardless of the device architecture will stop working when updating towards iOS 11.

This would mean that app developers will also have to update the listing of their apps. For if even though the apps is being run on a 64-bit device, it will not function on iOS 11 unless updated by the developers. In order to check the current app installed, simply check your ' Settings' and go to 'App Compatibility.'
