The new Intel Core X-series processor promises better performance for its users.

With the introduction of Core X-series processor family, including the Intel Core i9 CPU brand, the tech giant hopes to thwart the threat of AMD Threadripper. CPU wars continue between the two tech giants as they battle for supremacy on the high-end desktop department.

The Core X-series is the answer of Intel against the new Ryzen breed introduced by AMD. The Core i9 model is championed by its Extreme Edition CPU built with 18-cores and 36 threads of power.

Such monster is built to face AMD's 16 cores and 32 threads Threadripper. The Intel Core X-series as claimed by the company is by far the most powerful desktop platform ever, in term of scalability and accessibility.

"I'm proud to announce the new Intel Core X-series processor family: Intel's most scalable, accessible and powerful desktop platform ever. Although every enthusiast is different depending on their interests, a common denominator is their hunger for the best performance. Our goal is always to deliver the best performance and, today, we are taking it to the next level," ITP.net quoted general manager of Intel's Client Computing Group Gregory Bryant as saying.

However, despite the hype and marketing strategies associated with the upcoming CPUs, some experts are not convinced with the product. In particular, YouTube's most famous PC nerd, Linus Sebastian of Linus Tech Tips, does not buy what Intel has recently offered to the market, according to BGR.

In a 14 minute video, Sebastian expressed his thoughts about the new move by Intel with its Core i9 and Core X-series introduction. For him, such move is a "half-desperate attempt to appease enthusiasts and gamers."

One of the highly cited concerns for the upcoming Intel Core i9 would be its practicality, for pairing will be more problematic with the new platform. Buying the new Intel chips would necessitate buying Intel motherboards and Intel SSDs.

Now with an opinion coming from a renowned PC builder online, Intel's approach might somehow be affected. This latest update concerning the topic in way highlighted the expensive tag that would come along with an Intel Core i9 as compared to AMD Threadripper.
