AMD Threadripper price deal will likely be its edge as it faces Intel Core i9 in the high-end CPU market. The Sunnyvale-based company is confident that in terms of performance and price of their Ryzen CPU, they are ahead of its competitor.

The release of AMD Ryzen next-gen processors signaled the re-entry of AMD in the CPU wars. With its impending Threadripper release, Intel seemed to have hastily introduced to the market their Core X-series models, championed by Core i9.

As for AMD, the company offers 16-core, 32-threads CPU. In response to the growing threat of the Ryzen architecture, Intel released their own high-end model having 18-cores and 36-threads.

From the looks of it, the Threadripper may be outnumbered in terms of core. However, regarding performance and price deal, the Ryzen chip is on par with if not better than that of Intel's latest offering.

Under the given circumstances, most enthusiasts view the Threadripper as the best option for any high-end system builder. It is said as such for Intel is rumored to be priced at around $850, which will also necessitate a cheaper motherboard. Therefore, giving consumers a budget friendly high-end desktop option.

On the other hand, the newly announced Intel Core i9 from Intel is said to be within a $1,999 price point. And was previously reported, the CPU model will also require a specific motherboard and other peripherals, making the pairing quite problematic and expensive for some consumers.

Overall, AMD's HEDT (high-end desktop) Platform can efficiently compete with Intel's offering, be it in price or performance. However, from Intel's perspective, they can only boast of the performance, but will hardly convince enthusiasts who are on a tight budget. Thus, making AMD Threadripper as an ideal high-end option in the market right now.

In retrospect, the Threadripper CPU offers 16-core, 32 threads of power. Other variants of the newly introduced AMD Ryzen CPU are also being speculated to have 10-, 12-, 14-scores, serving as addition options.
