An alleged 'Red Dead Redemption 2' protagonist appears beside a train.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" release date and updates remain to be highly sought online. Since most of the claims and leaks lack substantial proof, gamers and enthusiasts are advised to wait for E3 2017.
The highly anticipated Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 would serve as the avenue for the confirmation or debunking of the currently circulating information about "Red Dead Redemption" game sequel. As most reports would suggest, the E3 event this year would be Rockstar's platform for finally introducing the sequel.

October last year, game developer Rockstar announced the sequel of "Red Dead Redemption." Such announcement was even preceded by teaser images posted on various social media platforms and their own website.
Many believed that this year would be the release period of the eagerly awaited sequel. However, there were some delays to the game to the point that its currently reported release date would be in the Q2 of 2018.
As of the current writing, two opposing theories or leaks are being speculated online concerning the gameplay of the sequel. Based on an anonymous source cited by TechRadar, the game's plot will take place prior to the events showcased on the original "Red Dead Redemption."
The setting of the game will be n a less populated version of the American West as mentioned by the anonymous tipster. However, such claim is somehow contradicted by another source.
The new rumor now suggests that the game will take place three years after the original title. The main protagonist will uncover things from the past that would ignite another journey and adventure for gamers to immerse themselves.
Meanwhile, in terms of its map, it is highly speculated that the new map will be just east of the map from the previous "RDR." This would mean that "Red Dead Redemption 2" map will somehow overlap with the last game map. Additional map info also claims that the size of the map will be similar or even larger than that of the "Grand Theft Auto V."
However, details mentioned above should be taken with a grain of salt for they lack official confirmation yet. That is why gamers and enthusiasts are highly advised to wait for the E3 2017.
