Fist Breaking Cigarettes
Smoking has long been deemed as dangerous, if not lethal. However, some people are finding it hard to quit smoking.
Smoking has been widely associated with various diseases, including cancer. In the United States alone, there are 16 million Americans living with an illness caused by smoking. Globally, tobacco use has been associated with almost 6 million deaths per year, which is expected to increase up to 8 million deaths by 2030, according to Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Despite the known dangers, most people are not quitting smoking. While some individuals tried to discontinue tobacco use, they have inevitably failed to do so.
One of the main reason for such failure to quit from tobacco use is its addictive content. Smoking tobacco is considered by experts as both physically and psychologically addictive, according to Help Guide.
Such addiction has been linked to the nicotine substance found in most cigarettes. Such element provides a temporary and addictive high.
Due to the presence of nicotine and its feel-good effect, the body may become accustomed to it. The body would then use nicotine and its effect as its way of coping with stress, depression, and even simple boredom. Thus, making it more difficult for a person to quit smoking.
Aside from the feel-good effect of nicotine. The act of smoking may have been embedded to a person's daily routine, making it a habit. Smoking, in such sense, may be interpreted as an automatic response to a certain factor or activity, like drinking a morning coffee.
In order to successfully quit smoking, one should address both addiction and the habits or routines that go along with it. Any smoke can quit with the right support and appropriate strategies.
For a smoker wanting to quit, failing once should not serve an impediment to stop from smoking. Even if you have failed multiple times, surrendering is not an option if you want a healthier lifestyle.
