Casio's new Android Wear smartwatch is a huge and sturdy wrist wearable that is designed for use in the Great Outdoors unlike devices from Apple, Samsung, and Asus. Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 is water-resistant up to 50 meters (164 feet), equipped with a compass, accelerometer, gyrometer, and pressure sensor, and even provides fish activity.

The company launched its new smartwatch on January 5, Tuesday, according to USA Today. Casio claims it is built to United States military specifications.

Casio's smart watch includes a 1.32-inch 320 pixel x 300 pixel LCD screen. The monochrome mode can skyrocket the device's battery life from one day to more than one month, but just tells the time.   

Meanwhile, the Smart Outdoor Watch includes watch faces or "tools" that access the device's sensors and other data. That includes the compass direction, altitude, air pressure, sunrise/sunset times, and the user's activity, according to The Verge.  

A dedicated button on the Android Wear device allows people to toggle between the different tools. It even functions when the user is wearing gloves.

Casio's smartwatch is a rugged timepiece like the company's traditional outdoor watches. It is available in orange, red, green, and black.

Smart Outdoor Watch includes Casio software and preloaded apps and services from the company's partners including Google. The Android Wear watch's experience is similar to wearing an Asus or Tag Heuer unit, but its rugged structure makes it a unique device.

Casio's Smart Outdoor Watch will have a retail price of about $500. It will be available in the U.S. in early April.
