Droid Life mentions that there is a "night and day" difference between look and feel of the Galaxy S5 and that of Galaxy S7. Galaxy S5 had a plastic base and lacked an elegant finish. Galaxy S7, on other hand, comes with a much improved look and a metal and glass design.
Forbes mentions that Galaxy S7 has stuck to design code of Galaxy S6 but it is curved in its rear, making it a handier device. Galaxy S7 weighs more at 152 grams than Galaxy S6 did at 132 grams or Galaxy S5 at 145 grams.
Although Galaxy S6 had a better design than Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 did not have water resistance and micro SD capacity that Galaxy S5 sported. Droid Life mentions that Galaxy S7 had picked best features out of its earlier models. It has stuck to much appreciated design of Galaxy S6 and retained water proof and expandable memory capacity specs of Galaxy S5. According to Forbes, Galaxy S7 has gone a step further with its water resistance feature and upgraded compliance from IP67 in Galaxy S5 to IP68 in new phone.
Forbes notes that all three phones come with a 5.1 inch display screen. Resolution offered by Galaxy S5 was a little lesser at 432 ppi as compared to 577 ppi offered by both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7. However, Galaxy S7 scores over its predecessors with an "Always on" display feature that shows notifications on screen even when phone is in standby mode.
Hence, those looking for an upgrade over their Galaxy S phones have enough material to seriously consider purchasing the new Galaxy S7.
