Xiaomi's latest offering Mi5 is said to have promising specs, superior design and will be offered at an affordable price, which is the consistent selling advantage of the company.

Figure wise, Xiaomi Mi5 is more affordable than any other smartphones out in the market as its price starts at around US$300. Now, the latest comparison that Xiaomi Mi5 will face is with Apple's iPhone 6S. Although, there are several comparisons that are spreading across different sites in the internet showcasing Xiaomi Mi5 traits that other devices do not possess.

Xiaomi Mi5, compared to Apple iPhone 6S' design and display, has metallic frames running through its edges with glass panels on its rear and front sides. With a curved design that measures 144.6x69.2x7.3 mm and weighs at 129 grams, Xiaomi Mi5 comes in White, Gold and Black while Apple iPhone 6S comes in Silver, Rose Gold, Space Gray and Gold with 18x67.1x7.3 mm full metal design and weighs at 143 grams.

Xiaomi Mi5 has automatic brightness control when used outdoors and this function is called Sunlight Display. With a 5.15 inch display, Mi5 has an IPS LCD which carries full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels). Apple iPhone 6S, on the other hand, has 3D touch functionality which can detect light and hard touch gestures that gives feedback appropriately, International Business Times reported.  

When it comes to camera specs, Mi5's primary (rear) camera has 16 MP and 4 MP front lens, while iPhone 6S has 8 MP rear camera and 1.2 MP front camera. Both handsets have autofocus, face detection and video recording, in which, Xiaomi Mi5 uses 2160p at 30 fps while Apple iPhone 6S has 1080p at 60 fps.

On the technical side of the comparison, Mi5 uses Android version 6.0 Marshmallow, 1.8 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 820 while 6S uses iOS version 9, 1.4 GHZ Dual Core Apple A8 processor. Also, these devices have built-in non-removable batteries - 3000 mAH for Mi5 and 1810 mAH for 6S - Smart Prix reported.

One of the vantage point of Xiaomi Mi5 against iPhone 6S is its RAM, as Mi5 offers 3GB and 4GB RAM depending on which edition, (Mi5 and Mi5 Pro) while iPhone 6S is only equipped with 2GB of RAM. Aside from noticeable significant differences of Mi5 and iPhone 6S in camera, RAM and battery, storage plays a big role for smartphone enthusiasts. Xiaomi Mi5 comes in 32, 64 and 128 GB with microSD support while iPhone 6S offers 16, 64 and 128 GB without microSD support.
