The Matebook has an IPS TFT LCD display that gives out high resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. This Matebook also has a 12-inch sporty display. Though the resolution and size are lower than Microsoft Surface Pro's 12.3-inch display of 2736 x 1824 pixel resolution, the Matebook has a great pressure sensitivity of 2048 levels on its LCD touch screen.
Both the gadgets come in two different options, sporting a 4GB RAM of and an 8GB one. Some high end Surface Pro models are also manufactured with a 16GB of RAM. Also the Surface Pro has a storage extension of up to 1TB that is not found in Huawei Matebook.
The Huawei Matebook runs on an Intel 6th generation processor that clocks at up to 3.1GHz. They are available in two versions of Operating Systems, a home Version of Windows 10 and a pro version. But the Surface Pro comes with an i5 or i7 processor and runs on Windows 10 Pro only.
When it comes to battery backup power, Microsoft's Surface Pro is the winner. It has a 5087mAh battery while Huawei Matebook offers only 4430mAh battery. Also, the Surface Pro comes with a Surface pen but other accessories like Surface Dock, type cover, etc are paid extensions.
In terms of the overall price, Huawei Matebook seems affordable with its 128GB of storage, a 4GB RAM and an Intel M-3. Huawei sells this basic version of Matebook for $699 but price changes for an 8GB RAM device. The same 128GB storage held Surface Pro costs $799.
Overall, Huawei Matebook has an edge over Surface Pro when t comes to specs and price.
