Microsoft is making all the important moves when it comes down to supporting iOS features inside its own apps. Not too long ago the company added Touch ID support to Outlook for the iPhone and iPad.

Android and iOS are solid operating systems for any user, but it is no secret that the Apple operating system gets more developer support due to a more controlled ecosystem that works a lot better than Android's openness. Furthermore, iOS apps tend to generate the most profit, so right away we can see why developers love the Apple mobile platform.

Microsoft for one doesn't discriminate, which is why most of its apps are available on both platforms. So far, Microsoft's email client, Outlook, works like charm, but the new trick it is about to learn should give it the edge over similar apps that lack Touch ID.'

"You can now protect your inbox with Touch ID and get the privacy you deserve. Keep your messages away from prying eyes by requiring your fingerprint or device passcode in order to access your Outlook account. To enable Touch ID, take a look at the app Settings under Preferences. (iOS 9 users) Your inbox -- and dare we say it, the world -- is now at your fingertips," according to the app's discriptin on iTunes.

Folks might be thinking, if the phone is already protected by Touch ID, then we do apps need protection? Well, if you're the type of person who does not share your iPhone or iPad with others, then there's no need to take advantage of the Touch ID feature for apps. However, if you do share your smartphone or tablet, then we highly suggest taking full advantage at all times.

We should point out that it is good to have both options, so even if you never allow another person to touch your phone, use Touch ID for apps nonetheless because anything can happen.

As it stands right now, iOS users who tend to take advantage of Microsoft apps are definitely having a far better experience than those on the Windows 10 Mobile platform. This could be another sign that Windows 10 Mobile is dead and never coming back.
