HTC Vive VR will be able to function with PCs.
New reports say that HTC 10 will support the forthcoming HTC Vive VR headset as well as sporting “Ice View” to support the Vive’s phone services.
Various reports say that that HTC will launch its 2016 flagship smartphone called HTC 10 on April 19. The company also confirmed that its Vive VR can be connected with iOS and Android devices, which will let the users answer calls and view the notifications while they are using the virtual reality headset. It is worth noting the HTC Vive is able to function with PCs, unlike Samsung’s VR headset that needs a compatible Galaxy smartphone, Techno Buffalo reported.

It is not quite clear what kind of support that HTC 10 will give to the Vive. Reports suggest that Taiwanese mobile phone network company may be working on a watered-down virtual reality experience for users to enjoy upon pairing the vive with the HTC 10. HTC’s move will help in increasing the sale of HTC 10 ahead of its launching.
In addition, HTC 10 will feature USB-C connectivity and a 5.2-inch WQHD Display. The smartphone is likely to be powered by either Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset or an equivalent MediaTek SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. Users can choose from three storage options: 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal storage and it is expected to be expandable via a microSD slot.
The company also confirmed that HTC 10 will have compelling camera capabilities, sporting a 12-UltraPixel sensor with laser auto focus and an 8MP front camera. It is also expected that both rear and front camera will feature optical image stabilization to allow users to click blur-free photos.
Interested buyers can expect that it will come with a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth and Wi-FI 802.11ac for the connectivity. HTC 10 may also run under Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under HTC Sense 8, and would likely to be upgraded to Android N when it launches. HTC Vive has a tag price of $799, according to BGR.
To open virtual reality experience stores in China, HTC joined with China-based digital games channel operator Shunwang Technology and it is expected that it will be operation in March-April.
