Apple Watch is facing more rival smartwatches this week including Android Wear OS units from Fossil and Nixon. New York City-based American fashion designer Michael Kors is also now adding a product line of wrist wearables. Michael Kors Access will include digital timepieces that start at $395. The new smart watches will have various price points to make them more affordable for teens, and will be designed for men and women.

One or more Access models will include inter-changeable leather and silicone straps. In addition, they seem to have front-facing "flat tires" that store the LCD display drivers and ambiance light sensors, according to Droid Life

In terms of tech specs it seems the new Android Wear watches will only include custom watch faces. All basic Android Wear features including fitness tracking and voice-activated Google assistance will also be included in the new smartwatches.

The company seems to be putting form over function and focusing on the projection that customers will care more about the luxury brand than the hardware features.

Michael Kors Access units will be available in fall 2016, according to The Verge. They will be available on the official Michael Kors website and various retail stores.

In related news Fossil is adding to its Fossil Q smartwatch line that it launched in October 2015. The company's new Q Wander and Q Marshal models will launch later this year and have a starting price of $275.

Fossil's new wearables were announced on March 15, Tuesday at the company's Global Exposition at Baselworld in Switzerland. In the next few months the company will also roll out a $95 activity tracker named Q Motion.

Q Wander will have a 44mm case and Q Marshall will feature a 46mm case. The former will have a gold metal finish and the latter will have a "rugged" case with navy blue finish.

Fossil's pair of new wrist wearables for iOS and Android will include basic functions. They include message notification alerts, friendly reminders through Google Now cards, and information on airline flights.

Meanwhile, Fossil Q Motion fitness tracker informs users of texts and calls; and includes smart tap tech that allows users to listen to music, take selfies, and find their mobile phone.
