The data-drive company Looker has announced its Lookerbot, a new tool with integrated Slack on it that allows user to bring their data directly into the conversation.

Lookerbot is the very first enterprise data platform to have Slack, according to PC World. It makes it easier and efficient to perform collaboration and integration of real-time insights into any conversation in Slack. In this way, it avoids the need to shuffle the applications for information.

The new tool is made with Looker’s API and SDK, which is one of the integrations built on the data platform. The users will just enter a simple command in Slack and then, Lookerbot will return the answer within the Slack conversation. Users can see the data in Slack upon appearing on the Looker with a complete range of visualizations such as charts and maps, as well as the custom visualizations and colors.

Users can customize the interaction with Looker inside of Slack by defining their own commands if they want to use classic Slack slash commands such as /Looker usage [customer name] to see the usage for a particular customer, Tech Crunch reported. The new tool will help companies to check the context around how people are utilizing data, making them a valuable resource. Looker also aims to make the data from the tool useful and provides another way to access and use the said data. 

Various groups and users will now have a more meaningful conversations and collaborations in Slack because all the relevant date they need for the business decisions are within their reach. It is now streamlined into one powerful collaboration solution, helping to redefine where and how work is done.
