The "Pokkén Tournament" is one of the most successful game spin-offs. The game looked to combine the combat system of the "Tekken" series with the "Pokémon" universe. The combo has resulted to a unique Nintendo Wii U experience.

"Pokkén Tournament" was announced in 2015 and released in arcades both in Japan and North America. It has since then become one of the most highly-anticipated Wii U game in 2016.

Story

The "Pokkén Tournament" title will keep a simple storyline that will not add too many details to the game. The player's character will move to the region and run into Nia, who will teach them about the Ferrum League and how the combat works. As seen on the gameplay clips, the fighting is different from anything "Pokémon" has done before.

Gameplay

Katsuhiro Harada and the "Tekken" staff put a lot of effort into the fighting system of this game, My Nintendo News reported. While it shares many similarities to "Tekken's" battle system, the title takes it a step further and introduces support "Pokémon" phase changes to make every battle unique.

Characters

Every "Pokkén Tournament" playable character has been designed to take on different roles, IGN reported. Even Pikachu and Pikachu Libre will fight in totally unique ways. While Pikachu will opt for more electric attacks and speed-based moves, Libre will go in close to do devastating damage with combos. Fans of the series have taken to social media their excitement over trying every single character on the roster.

In-game Content

Players who collect a lot of in-game items will be able to customize their personal avatar. They will be able to spend their time purchasing or winning all of the custom items and titles.

"Pokkén Tournament" will also feature a level-up system for each Pokémon. Every fight in the game will increase the Pokémon's level, which allows players to add points to a stat when fighting. Players can grind up with each Pokémon, especially when certain online titles require a specific character to reach a specific level.
