At a price that seems to fit into your pocket, two new debutants from OPPO - Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 plus - are going to give a tough time to Apple's iPhone. The design seems to be fantastic, with their sleek appearance; the most interesting part is for the selfie enthusiasts who are fond of uploading their pictures, as the front camera of both is a 16MP camera for R9 and R9 Plus, while back camera is 13MP and 16MP for R9 and R9 Plus, respectively.

The specification, as given on Techvicity, of OPPO R9 includes a 5.5-inch screen with Amoled display at a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It runs on ColorOS 3.0 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and supports a 4GB RAM. It is packed with 64GB internal storage that can be expanded to 128GB through micro SD card. Oppo R9 has a 2850mAh battery, while its processing unit is Octa-core MediaTekHelio P10 (MT6755) processor
The higher end model, Oppo R9 Plus, comes with a 6-inch screen with Amoled display at a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It runs ColorOS 3.0 and supports a 4GB RAM. It has two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB internal storage. Oppo R9 plus has a 4120mAh battery. The handset will run based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, while the processing unit is Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) processor.
Both the devices have Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB, 4G with VoLTE support in connectivity front. The VOOC flash on OPPO devices, unlike other quick chargers, uses only 5V so the device doesn't get hot easily and is durable.
However, Slash Gear finds no technologies in the phone that OPPO promised in MWC 2016, like MEMS-based vibration control in images. Though both the devices support VOOC technology that can provide a 2hours backup in just 5minutes charge, but Super VOOC fast charging technology is still a dream.
Priced $499 in China, Oppo R9 and R9 plus are yet to start exports. Experts believe them to be priced around at $450 - $550 in the U.S., much lower to its competitors Xiaomi and OnePlus.
