Sony announced on March 24 that it is going to make PlayStation games for iOS and Android devices.
Sony announced on March 24 that it is going to make PlayStation games for iOS and Android devices, as it has planned to expand its gaming market for mobile devices. The mobile gaming services will kick off on April 1. Sony's name is also going to be changed to Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.

Sony officially announced its name change from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCEI) to Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc (SIE). A new business unit is going to be set up by Sony, called ForwardWorks. This unit will be responsible for the design and development of content to provide continued services in smartphones and gaming market. Sony announced that this company is going to bring PlayStation titles for mobile devices. The company is going to be led by Atsushi Morita, the Japan and Asia head of SCE.
Sony has promised that its titles are going to be well-developed, hence making them more attractive and engaging worldwide. It says that ForwardWorks is going to control the different exclusive PlayStation software titles' intellectual power. It plans to take suggestions from the gaming related expertise and skills built in the past years with the PlayStation enterprise. This will help them provide efficient, optimized gaming application for mobile devices. There is no word on particular titles, but it seems like Sony will include PlayStation brands like "God of War," "Gran Turismo," "Ratchet & Clank," etc.
Since the release of Nintendo's first gaming app for smartphones, the Miitomo, Sony and other companies have taken the mobile gaming market seriously. Hence, Sony is really decided to build the gaming experience for Android and iOS devices.
For now, the gaming applications are announced only for the Asian and Japanese markets, and after its launch on April 1, more updates will come up regarding its release for the U.S. market.
