The Xiaomi MiPad 2's look and feel is very similar to the iPad Mini, with Operating System and measurements similar to iOS. It has a full glass front, metal back, and like other tablets, has basic set of ports, sensors and buttons. At the corner, it has a rear facing camera and a front facing camera at the top center. On the right hand side edge are the volume and power buttons. It is also a little sharp at the metal edges so users have to be a little careful.

It has a 7.9-inch IPS display and a resolution of 1536 x 2018 pixels for 326 ppi. This is the same size and measurement as the iPad Mini 4. It has a pleasant display, with good angles of view, good color saturation and enough brightness. The users can adjust the color saturation levels, color temperature and reading mode.

The MiPad 2 has holes for headphones of 3.5mm jack, a new data cable and for USB Type-C charging. It has the Atom X5-Z8500, an Intel processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. The connectivity options provided are the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. It weighs 322g and is 6.95mm thick.

The tablet's performance is a bit slow and worrying, especially when used for gaming or running processor intensive software. It still gives a good battery backup with 6190mAh battery.
